A Break Away!

Even though it was just a short break and the weather was not too hot we made the most of spending time together relaxing and even playing a fun family game of Monopoly.

Australian Summer of Tennis!!

I love the Australian summer of tennis.
After watching an interview on sunday sunrise on Serena Williams over the weekend, I was very impressed at how she holds herself as a lovely poised and grounded athlete.
Love her or hate her I think she is someone to watch.

An Athlete, an Icon

Serena Williams embodies style, power, beauty and courage. Like numerous A-list celebrities, Serena is recognized by the mere mention of her first name. Only 28, Serena has overcome insurmountable odds to win a total of 23 career Grand Slams which include 11 singles titles, 2 mixed doubles and 10 in women’s double in order to become one the game's greatest all-time players. Her remarkable tennis skills have skyrocketed her to fame, but only her unique charm and drive could explain her successful endeavors outside of tennis in film, television, fashion and philanthropy. Serena has high hopes for the 2010 season after her dominating performance in the most recent Australian Open. Her tennis ability combined with her off -court activity makes her one of the most recognizable names and faces in the world - an icon.
Serena was born September 26, 1981 in Saginaw, Michigan, to Richard Williams and Oracene Price. While still an infant, the family moved to Compton, California where she began playing tennis at the age of four. At nine, Serena and her family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. Since that time, she has become one of the most dominant figures in tennis.

Our summer break!

We arrived a little early so decided to sit around in the lobby lounge and relax while our room was being made up.We ordered coffee and iced chocolates ( the girls favourite). Then our room was ready for entering the girls quickly chose the double bed near the window which had a lovely view of the beach. New Years Eve was totally booked out everywhere. We had scrumptious nibblies, lemonades and a cosmopolitan for me, to pass the time with a friendly game of monopoly. Our days were filled with leisurely breakfasts followed by a stroll along the beach and visiting local places swimming and finding lovely places to dine.
